Re: ACTION ALERT

PARENTS:  I think it is necessary to inform you that tooth decay is INCREASING in children 5 years of age and younger in America.  That is the BAD news, but there is some GOOD news.  This increase in tooth decay can be reduced or minimized by proper educational materials and products.

Now I am going to tell you the reasons behind this increase.  This list is not in order of importance but the factors that have been proven by research.

1.)  Increasing sugar consumption in AMERICA.  IN 1960, the average American ate 5 pounds of sugar per year.  In 2023,  the average American ate 100 pounds of sugar per year.

2.)  Only 38% of adults see the dentist ANNUALLY for a routine preventive check-up.  The lowest demographic is 21 to 35-year-old adults, the primary age group for childbirth.

3.)  Only 47% of adults brush their teeth before bed, increasing their risk of tooth decay.  Tooth decay is a DISEASE caused by BACTERIA.  Parents pass these bacteria to their children within weeks of children's birth.

4.  Most parents do NOT brush their child's teeth before putting them into bed.  Bedtime brushing is the most crucial time to brush, which means your teeth are "clean " the entire time you are asleep.

5.  Many parents are unaware that mothers' milk, cow's milk, and baby formula contain natural sugar. LACTOSE in mothers and animals and artificial sugar in the formula.

6.)  A family history of severe or moderate tooth decay is significant.   Some children are already cavity-prone because they have inherited acidic oral saliva.

7.  A study recently revealed that introducing juice into your child's diet BEFORE 2 years of age will increase the risk of tooth decay by 300 PERCENT.

8.)  TOOTH DECAY is a DISEASE OF THE FAMILY.   Children share virtually everything with their siblings.   They share food,  toys, beverages,  hands, fingers, and pacifiers;  you name it, and they share it.  This process usually begins shortly after birth. It is impossible not to share your oral bacteria unless you never touch each other.   THIS HABIT IS THE MAIN REASON THAT THE YOUNGEST CHILD IN THE FAMILY WILL USUALLY HAVE THE MOST TOOTH DECAY

9.)  Over 400 studies show that using Fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash ALONE reduces a person's tooth decay rate by 24%.  A hospital-based clinical study of  Dr. Branams Xylitol toothpaste and gel results show a 72% reduction in tooth decay-causing bacteria.  This statistic means that Dr. Branam Xylitol products are 3 TIMES BETTER than Fluoride in reducing tooth decay in the ENTIRE FAMILY.
